Adam Spears is the president of Marshal Renee, delivering creative designs, high quality materials and superior installation for outdoor needs including patios, driveways, sidewalks, fences, turf, and retaining walls. As president of Marshal Renee, Adam drives the business by recruiting the right people and providing a vision for the future of the company.
Having spent 17 years in the industry, Adam started Marshal Renee in 2004 to fill a need in the market. He set out to deliver beautiful results in a timely manner, without sacrificing quality or customer service. Now, 15 years after the company’s inception, Marshal Renee continues to operate under those same core goals.
Adam started mowing lawns at 12 years old, waited tables throughout college and helped run his mother-in-law’s company, all before starting Marshal Renee. From a young age, Adam has worked as a service provider and has learned what it is like to hustle, work hard and treat others with respect. Adam’s time helping his mother-in-law run her business was extremely formational for him, as she is the one who inspired him to be in small business and taught him a lot early on. He uses these experiences every day to shape his leadership style for Marshal Renee. Adam is a big proponent of the golden rule, and he treats everyone the way he wants to be treated, from team members to clients, vendors, and everyone in between.
Adam graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a bachelor’s in business management. Fueled by passion, he believes that if you love what you do, you never work a day in your life. As a business leader, Adam loves the work he does every day, the people he works with, and feels fortunate to have a team that is family.
Ashley Spears is the CEO of Marshal Renee, a position she entered into after joining Adam in the family business in 2009. Prior to joining the team, Ashley worked in commercial real estate in both property and asset management. She spent over 10 years managing Class A properties in the DFW metroplex, including serving as manager over Burnett Plaza, a 1.6 million square foot property.
During that experience, Ashley was responsible for daily operations, accounting management, tenant relations and construction management services. While Ashley enjoyed the hustle and bustle of real estate acquisitions, dispositions, and asset management, it also helped her realize that it was time to use her experience to build her own business venture.
Ashley studied marketing at Texas Tech University. Her combined experience and education helped her feel equipped to enter into the family business. Now, Ashley and Adam strive to have a family-like company culture, and they believe a successful business takes a happy team. Creating a fun work environment where everyone feels welcomed and valued is Ashley’s top priority. She is proud of the way her team strives to provide quality workmanship in all aspects of the work and the product. Operating out of the core value to treat everyone with respect and dignity, Ashley and Adam’s goal is to develop relationships that make a positive impact on their customers and their employees every day.
Josh Thomas is the vice president for Marshal Renee and joined the company over 11 years ago. In this position, Josh primarily oversees the company’s commercial division. Moreover, on a day-to-day basis, Josh also leads contract negotiations, crew production, scheduling and training.
Josh’s background in commercial construction, as well as underground utilities has helped him grow the commercial section of the business. Prior to joining Marshal Renee, Josh worked in the underground utilities industry for several years in in a variety of roles, and he also served as a project manager for a partnership that developed commercial properties. Josh has had the opportunity to watch the Marshal Renee team evolve over the years, and thoroughly enjoys how the company has continued to operate as a large family. Working as a team, Josh believes there is no problem that is too big to tackle, and that the team’s dedication to completing projects on time and on budget is what sets them apart in the market.
Born and raised in Grand Prairie, Texas, Josh is grateful that he gets to work so close to home. Outside of work, Josh prioritizes spending time with his wife and two children. Together, they enjoy traveling and attending sporting events and concerts.
Kasey Terrel is the vice president of PavePro Residential for Marshal Renee, helping the teams maximize productivity by ensuring projects are completed on time and on budget and helping keep a constant flow of new projects.
Born and raised in Arlington, Texas, Kasey has been in the construction and sales field for 16 years. Prior to joining Marshal Renee in 2014, Kasey worked as a sales manager and a project manager at a retaining wall company and a fence company. Both of these positions helped Kasey gain exposure to a wide variety of projects that sharpened the skills he uses every day at Marshal Renee.
Kasey loves being a part of the Marshal Renee team for many reasons, but primarily because his job gives him the opportunity to do what he loves and interact with incredible people on a day-to-day basis. Operating as a family driven business, Kasey feels empowered to go to work at Marshal Renee every day and collaborate with people he believes in. Kasey enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, coaching his son’s baseball team, golfing, cheering on Dallas sports teams, and attending local concerts.
Alex Vazquez serves as the director of business development for Marshal Renee and the vice president of the TurfPro division. In these positions, Alex works closely with all departments to help implement new processes and strategies, in an effort to be more efficient and provide customers with a great experience. In addition to strategy, Alex also helps to research and develop new market and business opportunities for company growth.
While a student at Texas A&M, Alex worked for the Athletic Facilities Construction & Maintenance department. After graduating in 2012, he worked for a flooring company as a project manager before eventually moving into residential home building. Prior to working at Marshal Renee, Alex was a senior construction manager for a national homebuilder where he started building houses in Houston and later moved to Dallas to help start up a construction division in a new market.
A 2012 graduate of Texas A&M University, Alex majored in business management and minored in Spanish. Though he’s had a very full career thus far, Alex believes Marshal Renee is the most special place at which he has gotten to work. Being family owned, the company has an incredible team and culture. Alex believes the company creates value that is not only beneficial to the company, but provides a great experience for customers as well.
Ana Reyes is an office manager for Marshal Renee, where she helps the office stay organized and is responsible for accounts payable, bank reconciliation, payroll and work-in-progress reports to keep everyone up-to-date on the status of projects.
Originally from Guatemala, Ana joined the company in May of 2012. Ana graduated from Sam Houston High School in 2005 and received her associate degree in accounting from Tarrant County Community College in 2017. Ana believes that Marshal Renee is a special place because everyone at the company loves what they do, they take pride in a job well done, and will go above and beyond to help ensure the clients are happy.
In her spare time, Ana loves to spend time with her family, making great memories and enjoying everyone’s company. Ana’s family, especially her children, are everything to her and she feels very fortunate to come from a close-knit household.
Brenda Orona is an administrative coordinator for commercial projects at Marshal Renee. In this position, Brenda’s core responsibilities are project information entry, invoice approval, billing, and completing and notarizing waivers. Additionally, Brenda enrolls OCIP, CCIP and ROCIP if the project requires, requests and sends insurance certificates to customers, and completes and submits the company's pre-qualification to general contractors.
Prior to joining Marshal Renee, Brenda was a customer service lead for Ashley Furniture in the corporate office and also served as a customer account representative at Rent-A-Center. Her combined years of experience in customer service help her excel at customer relations in her current position with Marshal Renee.
Born and raised in Arlington, Texas, Brenda enjoys being close to home. Her favorite part of working for Marshal Renee is the company culture and the way it enables her to have great work-life balance. Outside of work, Brenda loves spending time with her family, especially her seven-year-old daughter. She is excited by exploring new foods and places and hopes to one day take a trip to Italy and Greece.
Erika Valdes is the residential administrative coordinator for Marshal Renee. Her primary responsibilities are to oversee the operations of residential projects by recruiting necessary team members, managing supplies, updating the client on progress and implementing the proper procedures to get the job done.
With a background in music and business, Erika has a wide range of skills that she’s been able to use in her professional career. She joined the Marshal Renee team about two years ago as an administrative assistant for the residential department and has since transitioned into the project coordinator role. Prior to joining the company, Erika worked at Ford of Grand Prairie in the accounting department where she developed her business knowledge and organizational skills.
Originally from Dallas, Texas, Erika attended North Lake Community College where she studied music and business. With a passion for music and songwriting, Erika will often sing and perform at company events and holiday parties. She thoroughly enjoys the opportunity to have fun with her coworkers and loves that Marshal Renee feels like one big family. When she isn’t at work or singing, Erika loves eating sushi and watching Turner Classic Movies.
Gaspar Ramirez is senior estimator and project manager for Marshal Renee, keeping the teams busy by bringing in new projects for the company and ensuring that projects are completed on time and on budget.
Prior to joining Marshal Renee in February of 2015, Gaspar worked in the construction industry in Mexico for four years. While in Mexico, his work involved several large-scale projects such as dams, roadways, piers, foundations, and bridges. Gaspar joined the paver industry when he came to the United States in 2013 and served as a supervisor for a construction company in Arlington. His combined nine years of experience in construction and civil engineering make Gaspar a strong leader for the organization.
Gaspar is from Zacatecas, Mexico and holds a civil engineering degree from the Durango Institute of Technology in Durango, Mexico. He believes Marshal Renee is a unique place to work because the teams work in harmony with one another to show their care and concern for quality for all customers. Gaspar’s favorite part of his job is getting to work with people he truly considers to be friends. Outside of work, Gaspar enjoys working out, listening to music and hanging out with friends and family.
James Carpenter serves as the senior superintendent for Marshal Renee. In this position, James’ main responsibility is to ensure that all of the commercial jobs are in good stance, from the office all the way to the field. James provides superintendents with the materials they need to get the job done efficiently.
Entering into the paving industry six years ago, James kicked off his career at Marshal Renee. When he first began working for the company, James served as general labor as a part of one of the installing crews. In this position, James observed the experts around him and learned to become a crew leader. It wasn’t long before James mastered that position as well, so when the opportunity arose for a field superintendent, James put his best foot forward and successfully made the transition.
James is ICPI and MCNA certified, and thoroughly enjoys using these certifications in various parts of his job each and every day. Going above and beyond to ensure every customer is satisfied, James truly believes that the company has the clients’ best interest at heart.
Jennifer Lockhart has been a member of the Marshal Renee team since December of 2018. In her current role as accounts receivable, Jennifer is responsible for collecting funds, reviewing waivers and reconciling credit card statements. She also takes on other duties such as entering accounts payable bills, filing bonds, sending out liens each month, and other administration tasks.
Having been in the industry for 15 years, Jennifer has a wide range of experience that makes her extremely effective at her job. Prior to joining Marshal Renee, Jennifer was the office manager at Concrete Paver Systems where she worked very closely with the management team to keep the business running optimally, from accounting to human resources and website management.
Jennifer attended Tyler Junior College and Tarrant County Community College, and she has enjoyed establishing a career for herself in the paver industry. One of Jennifer’s favorite parts of her career was the merger between Concrete Paver Systems and PavePro because she believes the combined leadership is an unstoppable force. Jennifer is thankful to work with amazing and generous people who share their talents with one another every day.
John Johansen works in sales for Marshal Renee. In this position, John’s primary responsibilities are to acquire new business for the company and maintain existing client accounts.
Originally from Chicago, John studied business and theatre at Illinois State University. John moved to Texas in 2008 and joined the Marshal Renee team in May of 2011. He has over 17 years of experience in the paver industry in sales and paver systems. Prior to joining Marshal Renee, John ran three sales offices for one of the largest paver companies in the United States.
John loves how the company takes a hands-on approach to everything they do. Ultimately, he believes Marshal Renee’s family culture and total customer care make them the best paver company around. Before entering the paver industry, John worked concert security and acted. He can actually be spotted in a scene of Ferris Buhler’s Day Off and is still a movie enthusiast today. When he isn’t at work or watching movies, John enjoys watching the Chicago Bears, Blackhawks, and Cubs and eating Italian food.
Juan Luna is the vice president of WallPro for Marshal Renee, analyzing data in order to estimate the time, money, materials and labor required to manufacture the best possible outcome for the client.
Originally from Zacatecas, Mexico, Juan received a civil engineering degree from the University of Zacatecas. After graduating from college, he had the opportunity to move to the United States where he started working in the paver and retaining wall industry. With 20 total years of industry experience, Juan has been with Marshal Renee since 2013.
The opportunity to learn and professionally grow every day alongside friendly coworkers is Juan’s favorite part of working for Marshal Renee. The company’s goal to meet the quality expectations of customers in the required time inspires Juan in his work. Outside of work, Juan enjoys spending time with his wife and three children.
Lance Dunaway works in sales for Marshal Renee, primarily helping to manage projects for FencePro. In this position, Lance works in sales and helps to estimate the money, materials, labor and time that will be required for each project.
Having been in the industry for 15 years, Lance joined Marshal Renee in 2014. Prior to joining the company, Lance worked for several other fence companies in sales and project management positions. He also spent time working in outside sales and customer service for Door Controls USA and Kirby Restaurant and Chemical Supplies. All of these sales-based positions and experiences have helped Lance to accumulate a large amount of industry knowledge, enabling him to do his job more effectively and efficiently.
Lance graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a bachelor’s in business administration and marketing. Lance believes Marshal Renee is incredibly unique for the way they are able to transform an environment from a vision to a reality. He believes the company offers value to customers in the quality of work they do, and the large quantity of work they can accomplish from fences, to pool decking, paving, retaining walls, outdoor kitchens and arbors.
Lisa Jeter is a schedule coordinator for Marshal Renee, scheduling crews, equipment, material pickups and deliveries. Lisa has been in the industry for 16 years and joined Marshal Renee in August of 2019.
Before joining the Marshal Renee team, Lisa had an extensive background of experiences in customer service, administration and schedule maintenance. From 2003-2008, Lisa worked as a front counter salesperson and customer services representative for Pavestone. In this position, she was responsible for coordinating with all Walmart locations in the Central Texas area, Louisiana and Oklahoma, as well as Home Depot and other retail accounts. Additionally, Lisa’s prior experience includes time at AIM Paving as an estimating and contract assistant, and finally, Keystone as the CDC inside sales and admin assistant.
After a series of successful career positions in the paving and construction industry, Lisa feels lucky to have ended up at Marshal Renee. She believes Marshal Renee does a unique job of building relationships with their customers, as well as their suppliers to not only maintain a level of professionalism, but also to provide a safe and family-oriented environment for all.
Mike Brown serves as the asset and operations manager for Marshal Renee. In this position, Mike ensures that all of the company’s equipment and resources are functioning properly. From the shovels, to the large 18-wheeler trucks, Mike keeps everything running optimally so the teams are able to do their jobs effectively and efficiently.
Having joined the company in July of 2015, Mike has been with Marshal Renee for nearly five years and has been in the services industry for over 25 years. Before joining Marshal Renee, Mike spent some time in the freight industry and also worked for 20 years at A Truck Express as an independent contractor.
With experience meeting client needs and handling a large variety of equipment, Mike’s background in the services industry makes him an excellent asset manager. Mike believes that Marshal Renee is unique when compared to others in the industry because of the way the entire team strives to install quality work and stands behind their products.
Luis Chairez works in sales for Marshal Renee, overseeing residential projects to ensure customer satisfaction. In this role, Luis sells and manages projects and cleans and seals customer pavers to keep them beautiful.
Luis has been in the industry since he joined Marshal Renee six years ago. Prior to joining the Marshal Renee team, Luis worked as an account manager for a financial institute for three years. During his time there Luis was able to cultivate exceptional customer service experience, learning how to anticipate needs and deliver solutions for customers.
Marshal Renee’s attention to detail and fast response to new and existing customer projects are a few of the things Luis finds unique about the company. Luis enjoys being a part of a talented team of individuals who are servant hearted and truly care about customer experience.
Reid Smith is vice president of FencePro, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the fence division for Marshal Renee. In this role, Reid helps steer the direction and coordination of the company by scheduling, estimating projects and ordering materials.
Having spent over 12 years in the industry, Reid joined the Marshal Renee team in 2012. Before joining Marshal Renee, Reid had experience in construction with a focus on fencing and home remodeling. His five years of experience in fencing and home remodeling helped Reid build the skills and industry knowledge that enable him to lead the operations of Marshal Renee today.
Reid graduated from Northlake Junior College with a degree in business. One of Reid’s favorite parts of working for Marshal Renee is how the team is driven by customer satisfaction. He believes they are unique because they are capable of delivering many different needs of a project, while maintaining reliability and offering fair prices.
Yenifer Reyes is an administrative assistant for Marshal Renee, handling the functions and operations associated with payroll and accounts payable. In this position, Yenifer helps to establish and maintain the payment systems between the company and their vendors.
Prior to joining Marshal Renee, Yenifer worked at Ashley Furniture in the delivery department. However, it wasn’t long before people took notice of Yenifer’s natural ability to connect and communicate with others. After a short time in the delivery department, Yenifer was promoted to work in customer service where she was able to practice client relations that she still uses in her position today.
Yenifer joined Marshal Renee in 2015 and has thoroughly enjoyed it ever since. Her favorite part of her job is the cohesion the team has, acting and functioning as a family.
